“Children here don’t like to have dreams for the future because they can’t fulfil them…”

“ What you have made yourself is worth a fortune”

- traditional Pacific region saying

Globalisation has both presented and linked us to a world of opportunity and risk – as a corporate citizen operating across Asia-Pacific regions returning something to children at risk who are our common future is our social responsibility.

As a business with an Asia-Pacific focus, we both recognize individually and as a global employer ‘that those that can, should’ in reference to giving something back to enable families and communities to provide the best possible protection, care and opportunities for its children.

Through the establishment of the ‘A Child at Risk fund’, our objective is to cut through the “macro”, and through this vehicle use our ability to act to provide direct, practical intervention at the most basic needs level of a Child at Risk – this is not any reflection upon the many and outstanding development and assistance programs for children but our decision on how we feel we can make a small difference in the life of a child, and ultimately provide hope as the basis for building their own future in a world of risk.

A fixed percentage of our placement fees through ‘A Child at Risk fund’ is returned to the country of placement origin towards making difference to vulnerable children in environments were country, health and socio-economic risks dominate – local community networks and recognized support agencies assist us to realize our social objectives by ensuring basic needs of children with a focus on shelter and clothing, safe drinking water and food, medical care and treatment, and direct financial support for education.

For RMR, our global interest is in the subject of risk - whilst many lessons can be learnt from the past our future is not always clear. As such, for RMR our preference is to avoid inaction where it concerns our children who are globally our common future.

On behalf of those who receive the direct benefit of your support we simply say thank you.
